Cemre Çubukçuoğlu is currently working as a research assistant at Yaşar University, Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design. She completed her Ph.D. studies at Delft Technical University (TU Delft), Faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment, in the Netherlands in January 2023. She developed a design methodology and layout optimization tool for solving spatial connectivity problems (long walking distances, difficulty finding direction, etc.) in hospitals in her doctoral thesis titled “HOPCA: Hospital Layout Design Optimization using Computational Architecture”. Cemre Çubukçuoğlu received her bachelor's degree from Yaşar University Industrial Engineering in June 2013 and her master's degree from the same department. During her master's degree, she took courses from the Department of Architecture and design studios, as well as Industrial Engineering courses, and conducted an interdisciplinary study in her master's thesis, which dealt with two topics titled "Architecture" and "Computational Intelligence". She has developed design models in three different building scales, in a parametric design environment, with a multi-objective optimization method, considering performance criteria such as daylight, energy, and cost. Since 2013, he has been a teaching assistant in Spatial Geometry in Design, Computational Design Techniques, Spatial Representations, CAD CAM and Production Technologies, Advanced 3D Modeling and Graduate Computational Design Studio courses. She also gave lectures as a guest in various courses in Yasar Univ. and TU Delft. Her research interests include Computational Design, Multi-Objective Optimization in Architecture and Interiors, Energy and Daylight Simulation, Performance Based Design, Space Syntax, Graph Theory, Hospital Layout Design, Advanced Manufacturing Technologies.
