John Thompson is a native of Scotland and has been living in Turkey since 1999. He has studied psychology both formally and informally and graduated from Glasgow Caledonian University with a BA. He holds a TEFL certificate from Strathclyde University continuing Education programme since 1999. In addition he has held the Cambridge University certificate teaching English for Speakers of Other Languages (ICELT) since 2008. He has also been a Cambridge speaking examiner since 2010.
He worked at the University of Economics, Izmir since 2001 as an instructor in the Preparatory programme and then at Yaşar University from 2011 in the Preparatory English programme and for the past 5 years in EAP programmes. He has worked in curriculum organisiation and is a frequent speaker at English language conferences.
