Dr. Belgin Terim Cavka has been working as an Assistant Professor at Yaşar University, Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design since 2018. In 2019-2020 she was the Vice Dean of Faculty of Architecture. Through 2016-2018, she worked as a Research Associate under Civil Engineering, Project and Construction Management Group at UBC, Vancouver, Canada campus. In 2015-2016, he worked professionally as a Commissioning Agent in the integrated design process of green (LEED) certified high-tech buildings in WSP Vancouver, Canada. Previously, she worked as a post-doctoral researcher under Mechanical Engineering and as a Sustainable Building Science Program (SBSP) scholar/trainee at UBC, Vancouver, Canada campus through 2012-2015. She received her Ph.D. and M.Sc. degrees from Izmir Institute of Technology, Faculty of Architecture, Department of Architecture between 2002-2011, while she was also working as a Research Assistant. In 2011, she taught at Izmir University of Economics as a part-time instructor. During her research career, she worked in various research projects on high-performance sustainable buildings/constructions with scholarships, became a member of various international working groups, where she also mentored graduate students. She specifically worked as a data analyst for whole building energy models of various high-tech buildings during her post-doctoral period. She is a sustainability expert and has a background in energy efficient design and building physics. The researcher's interests are sustainability, energy efficient design approaches and measurement & verification (M&V), passive design strategies (Natural Ventilation and Adaptive Thermal Comfort), indoor environmental quality topics (IEQ), building automation systems’ data analysis, energy modeling tools, CFD modeling, Integrated Design Process (IDP), and green interiors.- Email
