Sevgi IRK completed her BA at Trakya University in English Language Teaching Department in 2008 and her MA at Bahçeşehir University in English Language Teaching (with thesis) in 2020. She completed her compulsory internship at Boone High School, USA by winning a Fulbright scholarship and taught different courses such as "English Language Arts" and "Journalism" at K12 level. Right after her graduation, she worked as an EFL instructor at a private university for eight years and taught General English in Prep School; English for Academic Purposes, Advanced Reading & Writing Skills, and English for Specific Purposes such as Medical English in Faculties and Schools. At the same time, she took part in Research and Development unit where she carried out studies on curriculum development. She received her CELTA certificate in 2013 and in 2013-2014 academic year, she worked as a language assistant at Arizona State University with a Fulbright FLTA scholarship, giving Elementary and Intermediate Turkish courses to foreign students. Between 2017 and 2022, she worked as a middle school ESL teacher in different private schools and in 2022, she started to work as a full-time instructor at Yaşar University, School of Foreign Languages, English Preparatory Class.
