Short CV

Nathaniel Alexander Davis completed a Bachelor of Liberal Arts in 2006, Master of Arts in History in 2009. He is currently a Delyte & Dorothy Morris Doctoral Fellow and PhD candidate in History at Southern Illinois University. He was a 2012 Turkish FLAS Fellow and 2012-2013 visiting Boren Fellow at Boğaziçi University. He is currently completing his dissertation on the language training programs of the Ottoman Foreign Ministry and American Foreign Service. He is a US Army veteran and former Language Program manager and speaks Turkish, Serbian, and German and can read Ottoman Turkish. He moved to Izmir in 2014 to open an EducationUSA advising center for Turkish high school and university students interested in studying in the United States, which continues to serve the Izmir community. Nathaniel is a TEFL- and CELTA-certified ESL teacher as US Army veteran and Language Program Manager with more than ten years’ experience in Intensive Language Programs, and language testing.
