Short CVAhmet Egemen Tanık is an instructor of School of Foreign Languages at Yaşar University. Before that, he worked as an instructor at Ege University School of Foreign Languages for 7 years and prior to that Ankara University, TÖMER for a year. During those eight years, he has had the opportunity to work with learners of various ages and levels of proficiencies, collecting on-the-job experience on the techniques and approaches he was previously taught about, learning from colleagues both young and old, green and seasoned. He has always enjoyed teaching long hours, participating in workshops, leading students in quiz challenges, amassing, creating, refining, and using materials of mass instruction, or discovering new ways of making reading and writing contagious. He has a BA in English Language and Literature, a teaching certificate, some 8000 class hours under his belt, and several brown jerseys to complement. In the 2016-2017 academic year, which marked his tenth year in teaching, he was certified in TESOL by the SIT Graduate Institute. He values reading and writing a bit more than the other skills and lives by the saying “curiosity killed the cat but satisfaction brought it back.” When he has spare time, he gets interested in new technologies, reading, moviegoing, communing with nature, poetry, and internet humor in addition to being a sci-fi lover, a 25-year-gamer, movie and video game soundtrack collector.
