After completing undergraduate education in the Department of English Literature and Language at The University of Central England in Birmingham, UK, he received his first MA in Critical Theory from the University of Nottingham, also in the UK. He received his second MA in Teaching English as a Second Language from The American University of Sharjah, in the UAE, and gained his PhD degree in English from The University of Nottingham, UK. After beginning his overseas academic career in 1998 teaching content-based Academic Writing at Bilkent University, Ankara, he relocated to Sharjah in the UAE in 2002, where he was promoted to Senior Instructor of Academic Writing. He moved back to Turkey in 2010 to teach Academic Writing at Koc University in Istanbul before receiving his PhD from Nottingham in 2014. After gaining the doctorate, he became a lecturer in English Literature at Hacettepe University, Ankara in 2015. He has been employed in the Department of English Language and Literature at Yaşar University since 2017 and has been promoted to Assistant Professor of English Language and Literature.- Phone 0232-570 8854
